DEI
11 Oct 2025For a political group that preaches tolerance
we sure made a lot of zero-tolerance policies.
We made a lot of safe spaces
where no one felt safe.
After all
who among us doesn’t have
at least one of those isms
lurking
in the dark corners of their mind?
And true those rich white men
weren’t killed in the streets by cops
but ostracization
is still one of the most hurtful punishments
we humans can wield.
They did hurt people.
That’s important to talk about.
But did hurting them back work?
Did cancelling them create
a more honest, compassionate, and harmonious society?
Reverend Budde told President Trump
to love his enemy
but I really wasn’t sure
whether she loved him.
I can’t control
what he’s going to do now.
But for my part
if I were the one
standing in the pulpit
I think I’d start with
I’m sorry.
